Well to go along with my coil cutting question...
I can't for the life of me get the lower control arm seperated from the spindle. Is there some trick to this? I've put a fork in there and banged the hell out of it and it won't budge. Any ideas?

leave the ball joint together and drop the inner shaft.

Well I was able to seperate the lower control arm from the spindle, but the ball joint was still on the spindle. I can't get those two things apart. I need to replace this ball joint.

If anybody is still reading--
Make sure the rubber boot isn't in between the fork fingers and the ball joint. Had that happen on a '69 Camaro a few weeks ago. The owner wore himself out beating on it. Moved the rubber boot out of the way, slipped the tines in, whacked it three times, and now I'm a hot rod god in his shop.
