I am trying to buy this from a friend of mine. I invision a 60's surf theme! Chrome smoothies, bellflowers, skinny whites, a surf board on the roof, and flaked scallops on the hood (which you can't see in the photo) Lets see what you guys can do!
You could flame in if you want. All that you would need is a gallon of 86 octane and a road flare.
Or, really get traditional and trade it in for a new PT Cruiser.

Plans are for a cool daily and long distance show commuter. 5.7 LT1 with the buick dynaride suspension. mmmm....
That car will never be cool. Good daily driver, yes. Cool, no.
A gold plated turd is still a turd.
Sorry, I'm feeling kinda ornry this morning.

No worries...
I realize it is not everyones cup of tea. I just thought I would share my idea. It just reminds me so much of the early 60's fullsize wagons that were used as tow machines. Yeah I guess it is kinda faggy like a decked out PT, but at least this has a V8 and rear wheel drive.
thanks for the input,
Mike

We all know that "cool" is in the eye of the beholder.
I see where you're coming from and I would be tempted to do the same thing but I wouldn't go over board with expense and flash, you'll never get back what you'd have in to it.
Lowering it and some nice wheels and tires (I wouldn't put wide whites on a late model) can make it look real presentable, keep the cost down and maybe even make it more sellable, when the time comes.
Here's my attempt. Keep the woodgrain for the "Woody" look, add a surf board to the roof and some old sufing decals to the rear side windows to reinforce the surf look and you're good to go.
