I actually like the car other than the rear wheels look a little to big. I would drive it if I could fit in it that is. Just not everyday. One thing I did see I kinda liked for the steering was the vw box the only reason why is I can get one of those cheap around here because there are alot of vw bugs around. That is if he used a bug steering column and box. If its a cahrmagia (if I spelled it right) box then I'm screwed because those are almost non existent around here. I did get a few ideas from this car. I'm not going to build my A chopped and channeled like that one because I want to drive mine all the time. But I still think there was some cool stuff about that one.

Whomever buys this piece of artwork better not attempt driving it anywhere near LA. They gonna die pretty quick. Like germ said. A pothole on the 105 would toss it 2 lanes over in front of a lady on her cellphone, smoking a cigarette, putting on her makeup, in a Hummer H2 with a bumperguard that says "IeatmodelAs." That roof isn't gonna provide much "bumper protection" from fender bender. Just a quick blow to the back of your skull. That car is waaay beyond the hole Purple People eater concept too. I'd feel 10x safer in the PPE.

It looks cool. I just hope whomever buys it doesnt mind owning cars they can't drive. Aka rich and dont give a crap.

i think the car is cool in a cartoon sort of way it has a good look from the shots in the pictures ...but as far as anything other than a show car..... , i have a 3" chopped 3-w i drive.... alot.... i have almost gotten into at least a dozen accidents cause of people staying in the blind spots checkin it out..so i cant imagine actually driving that thing.... might be fun once or twice but after that i think it would be a major burden... seems it could have been less insane and more driveable ,but i guess you were going for shock value

Yes this Coupe is rediculous, but it is one guys vision and interesting as a styling exersize.
If I would see the car in person, I would spend some time at looking how it was done.
My car is as low as I would want it at 47" and it looks like he shaved another 6" or so off that, and he is a Inch taller than me!
You have to give him credit for that, that could not have been easy.
I own a car that is a lot lower than my Roadster that used to be Street legal, but I would never take it into traffic here, To many distracted soccer moms in SUV's and drugged up teenagers in raised Pickup trucks.
There is more abillity in building a car like that than running over it, so naturally it is the low cars fault for being there...
And as for vintage tin getting fucked up by building cars like this, how many cars will get theyr own hinges back after having everything shaved and hidden??

This thread won't die,so here's another .02 worth.The kid has balls for building and driving this car,and I say more power to him.If he had used 16" rear wheels,a lot of the bullshit wouldn't have been said,but he chose to do something different.So fucking what.I know I'm a newcomer to the HAMB,but I'm not new to weird car shit.I'm a little disappointed in some of the posts from the regular guys,seems like there's a little inconsistency going on here.IF he had used different wheels,IF it was chopped a "little" less,channeled a "little" less,then would he have the "Seal of Approval" ??
All this talk of practicality leaves me cold..The safety thing,too.If any of the folks whining about how low it is,how invisible it would be to soccer moms,etc,ride,or have ever ridden motorcycles,then you are a hippocrite.I figure anything I might do to a car would still be safer than riding the old panhead I used to ride.If that didn't scare me off the road,then the kids car wouldn't either.So his carbs stick up to the roof.So the car only comes up to his dick.Like an earlier post or two said,if you want practical,drive a fucking Camry or a Civic.
His car is just a little more of everything than the cars a lot of us admire.So it's a cartoon car.So fucking what.

I didn't copy the PPE but saying that I did is a complement because it's my favorite car, if you can remember the post a while back and all you guys said how gay and impracticle that was, I was the first to stand up and say I'd love to drive it down the strip. Anyways, I earned everthing I did. I worked up from nothing and my parents didn't buy me shit. My first car was a ratty 37 pickup and my parents wouldn't even let me have it so I hid the frame and bed behind my fence and worked on it when they left. They found out and my mom wanted to throw it away and slamchop let me build it at his house. I almost had it done but I ran into debt so I had to sell it and pieced together a 29 roadster and drove it through highschool while working on a 53 olds. sold both of those and had enough to move out and opay a little rent at a shop then finally built that last roadster and with that and this I can just about pay my college tuition. I am saving up to build a roadster to keep and am going to toss a t coupe together for now to fund that. But I didn't get shit given to me and worked from shittier cars to be able to get this far and it's pretty fuckin stupid when some fag like germ starts rambling about traditional carp. I mean it's cool and all but you make fun of me for copying the brown neck bandito and ppe when your copying every car ever built in the 50's...

My windows are 4" tall... I can see just fine (although my carbs do not sit in front of the windshield). In my opinion, (the opinion of someone who actually drives a hammered coupe every day) the blind spot is caused by the part of the roof between the rear window and the quarter windows (and his engine of course!). The only problem I think he would have is seeing forward. If I ever run into you, I'll give you a ride and let you see for yourself. I've made believers out of many that way...

Dude, when I was 18 I rode a ratty Honda 175, had just seen Easyrider and dreamed of building a chopper with ten foot forks and a massive cissy bar. I was too busy being a teenager and getting drunk and pissing my years away against a wall, so did nothing. You are 18 now and building cars and doing what you want to do.
As far as I am concerned I admire you immensely for taking the world by the balls and saying THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO BUILD: HERE IT IS!

If people don't like it, that is their perogative, but to slag off somebody elses car, like is happening here, is just childish beyond means. Maybe stateside dudes have a different sense of humour than us Brits, but I sure hope I never get the treatment you are getting for building your dream. Same here...
My windshield is 6" tall, but it is layed back a lot.
and I still only use the top half of it.
There is a blind spot where LP says it is, but I have owned a Delivery Van and a very low Italian Sports car before, and they were both more dificult to drive in heavy traffic than my Roadster.
And nobody thought either one of those cars was radical in any way...
I just use my rear view mirrors a lot.
I am more worried about somebody not seeing me than me not seeing them.
But I am not sure what you would have to drive for that, a buddy of mine drives a bright orange Dodge Charger and he almost got ran off the road because they did not see him...

the thing about it is, the guy who BUILDS a car like that, has a slightly better chance of adjusting his driving for such a contraption, but the buy who BUYS it...good luck to that sorry shit who thinks he's gonna hot rod around in that thing, i can't wait to see it unchopped and unchanneled, cause his wife won't ride in it cause dudes get nice beaver shots when she crawls in and out.

Ok.... I have to say that if I saw this car at a show, I would probably check it out for at least an hour or so and take a bunch of pics of it...
I admire the work that you have put into it....

If I had been able to build something like this when I was 18, can you imagine what other cars I would have been able to build over that past 12 years or so....

Many times when building something new and different, you have to take it to the extreme, over the edge point in order to back up later and see what you can change or have improved....
It is thinking like this and this thought process that has allowed mankind to achieve all of the amazing things that we take for granted today....

A motorized car was extreme thinking at one point and look where we are today as far as the automotive industry is concerened....

On to the severely squashed coupe, it is merely the equivalent of 27" wheels, competitive eating contests, porn stars trying to outdo each other in the number of different men can penetrate them in any given hour or the number of times a thirteen year old can ride Space Mountain in a row etc etc.
In other words it was an excercise in going too far, and I can appreciate that v8 dude. However when you claim that your coupe is driveable and comfortable I will not buy that for a dollar, no way homey.
My own severely chopped '34 is way too uncomfortable for any kind of distance driving and it's nowhere near as radical as some rides around. However the difference is I didn't purposely build my car to give me leg cramps and no easy way of farting in the tight sitting position. My car's body was chopped like that years ago for the express purpose of getting to the end of the 1/4 mile as quick as possible.
There's no way I'd do something like that for a street driven car, it's just plain dumb. But for $500 you takes what you can get.
Lookit I'm glad there's an 18 year old doing the shit you do, but I think youthful bravura's gotten in the way of common sense.
You should count your lucky stars that you won't have to suffer getting in and out of your car anymore, that job is now the guy's who gave you 14 large for it.

A lot of us have similar situations that we eventually learn to adapt to. Tell me how easy it is to look out the side of my 40 pickup. The back window is pretty tiny, huge blind spots at 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock, peep mirrors are no help because the cab is so much wider in the rear than it is in the front you would have to almost use semi truck mirrors to see around it but yet I've learned to adapt after 10 & 1/2 years on the road. I lean out my fucking window and look before I move around the road.

Cab space is another issue. I'm a pretty small guy so space really doesn't bother me. You build your ride around what you can stand. You don't see big ric trying to get into my truck or Flt-Blks truck. He'll get freakin stuck. I think smaller guys like me, Flt-Blk, Outlaw, we would have plenty of room to squirm around inside that coupe.

Yes, the car is not for everyone. It wasn't built for you big guys, well at least not for any trips over about 30 min or so.

I love it. I would drive the shit out of it. I think it's cool as hell. Just another way of promoting extreme. Nothing wrong with that!

Just my thoughts....but who fucking cares right!

He (V8, the owner of the car) didnt even start this thread... someone who found his auction on Ebay was impressed and posted this for everyone to see. Maybe he (V8) had some precognition and decided NOT to ask for the HAMB's opinions, because.. too be honest, the HAMB can be QUITE brutal.
