NOS Cal Custom Air Cleaners #1509

Well I found the two #1509 Louvered 4bbl air cleaners I was looking for.I went to pull one out and install it today and noticed this black dust all over the inside of the box and air cleaner,and I realized something about the two air cleaners,they are both #1509 but one is a 1967 and the other is a 1968..the one to get is a pre 68..Why? because from what I see here, the early ones used a fiber type element and the later used a foam element which after 35 years has turned into dust!! they both have protective masking tape on the to protect from pitting and removing it a chore and a half!!heres a few pics of the two #1509's

Sweet.
Nothing a bottle of Goo-Gone couldn't fix.
Especially the tape. squirt some on it, let it sit for a couple minutes and slide the tape right off.
