Rockeriffic! I think it looked great white. The flames might look great solid red on white. I think you "nailed" the fad.

Yeah , too bad about the flatblack & red rims . It still looks okay , but seriously it would have been ALOT nicer if you would have lowered it , shaved it , and cleaned it up here and there . It certainly is a rockabilly rumbler now . It looks just like the drawing so I guess it turned out just how you wanted it .

i`m afraid the black`n`red thing is getting a little overdone and i have to say you have the base for a really cool kustom...this is how i see it ..a little Barris-esque

Maybe black and red isn't as common in Norway.

I'd agree... you did mess it up... like everyone else said, the black car-red rim combo is getting a little tiring... all that thing needed was a little lowering and some rims... maybe get rid of the cattle guard and call it done.
Sam.

Being on the other side of the pond is no excuse for jumping off a pier because everyone else did it. Atleast it aint a moredoor with mexican blankets. As monkey said, the barris hardtop route would make one unique custom.

Cole said kustoms get you pussy. I believe it.

I like the Surf Monkey's version, but if you're a regular guy, you probably can't just chop it your self. Coming from on of those guys that has the old black primer with flames paint jobs,(I'm getting pretty tired of it), I would have to agree about the paint, try mixing up your own shade of primer. The neutral yellow and a little black makes for a cool shade of grey. What have you got to loose? Experiment!

well hmm lets see

he said it needed alot of body work anyways so the only way hed realy be screwing that car up per say , is to leave it that way.

if you had a car that needed a bunch of work and had shity paint wouldnt you shoot some primer on it to make it one color before you finish the car?

and what the hell might as well through some flames on it till he figures out what his next step is.

my opinion??? the photo shop pix look fucking tight. go for it , you could organize the first overseas HAMB chop

were all regular guys we can do anything;)

What comes in the sick boy kit? Cuffed jeans, engineers, and pomade? Maybe one of those cool switchblade combs? Throw in a stripper girlfriend and you're set. I do like the chop on the monkey mobile though, if you're up for it, do it.

Anyone ever consider the fact he is in NORWAY????? Like they see a lot of old cars in any shape or color!

I know the red black thing is worn out in certain parts of the country, but not in ALL of the USA. I could do it to my 54 and it would be considered cool here in Rapid City...of course we have no wannebe rockeriffic rebels with a trust fund here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tman
09-23-2003, 08:47 PM
Steve, remember that most of these guys have no clue of Mud and the days of the sickboy kit. Wasnt there something to do with a 62 Falcon in the kit? The paint by #s?

Steve
09-23-2003, 08:51 PM
the 62 4 door falcon was on the piant by numbers instructions 2 colors red and black I think I still have the instructions on my home computer somewhere.

Rick theres nothing wrong with a stripper girlfriend unless shes still charging you for lap dances

Tman I'm not quite sure if you've noticed, but take a look at some of the cars being built across the pond. Check out Empire32's Webpage (http://mapage.noos.fr/empire32/carbike.htm) for some incredible examples. I'm always amazed what the guys overseas pull off considering the lack of tin and widespread literature. Maybe it makes them more selective?

That said I still give major kudos to those without "readily" available tin, regardless if its cookie-cutter or not. I'm sure the stares and oogles at stoplights are fifty times what they are here, and that makes it that much enjoyable.

Yeah Daign, I know what they are doing over there. But to put it into perspective add up all the cars in Europe THEN add up all the hotrods!!! Those guys are tops in my book but the fact is hotrods are uncommon in daily life in most places whether it is Europe or the US.

Hehe... Thanks for kool photoshops!! Love the stance you have given it there.. Actually It was lowered,w\skirts before the "rockarbillyscenestercuffs`ncomb" paint..
Me living here in norway, really dont gives any escuse to do such terrific thing as painting my car in primer, before the summer season..! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I totally agree, shiney paint are the way to go,but the car is for sale,so i dont know if its worth the amount of work for me.. We`ll see,if it wont sell, its some runningboards to be made, and maybe some new paint to be mixed.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Tman. Thanks for stepping forward for us little guys, but some things need to be said. In Norway (and Sweden) we really have a lot of old american cars. At least pr. person living here. For some particular models there are more cars alive her than in the states (I know that applies to the 55-56 Crown Victorias) But unlike Sweden, Norway has very few kustoms and rods.
Comparing with France (Empire) is unfair to the french. Those guys have laws, number of cars and a lot of other stuff against them. I had a long road trip in France this summer and saw about as many old american cars (or old cars at all) as I see on a regular saturday night in my tiny hometown on the entire trip.

As for the car itself; its not my thing.
