Hello Everyone:
Jim in Toronto here.
The Canadian Vintage Modifieds club races pre 1948 full metal bodied coupes and coaches, on asphalt oval track, in Ontario, Canada. This is the 40th year for this club.
The cars are a unique blend of old and new technology, with 255 cubic inch in line six cylinder engines, fully modified at 12 and 13 to one compression, on aviation gas, with a two barrell carb and a minimum weight of 2300 pounds.
A straight front axle, with king pins, is required, and the springs are traditional longditudinal for the Chevys, and "buggy springs " for the Fords. Four wheel disc brakes, a hand built 2 inch by 3 inch frame and tube cage, along with a fuel cell and 5 way belts and a double layer fire suit are mandatory.

The CVM races all over southern Ontario, and this year (2007 ) they have a 22 race season, starting in May and going into October. With about 40 cars in the club, it is one of the fan favourites, as these cars don't look anything like your standard Saturday night race car.
Please come back and give me your comments, here.
Cheers Jim Bunting. Toronto.
