Ask an honest question and.... DELETE!

Guess I'll have to reconsider the HAMB as my main source of info.

consider the hamb your main source of traditional car info.

ask the off topic stuff somewhere else.

Come on man. I waited until you got your answer. Or were you really hoping to set around and talk 33's a while? :)

I want the answer from people that I associate with. That's why I asked here. How is one to know what they are asking is on topic UNTIL they ask?

The on topic thing is BS. I can think of three or four threads that I have read TODAY that are still going...

...I still haven't got my answer BTW.

I'll pm you the answer....ok?

man, it must be nice to live where you don't have to see what some people do to cars.

I'd actually like to hear it from Kris.

And Kris, if you don't mind can you post the links to the OT stuff you're seeing so I can take care of it? Thanks man.

No, I didn't get my answer. I wanted to know why it’s called that and what the acronym means. Some of the explanations came close to answering my question, and yet another answer yielded even more questions I would have liked to ask. Not that big of a deal for me to find out the answer(s), I’m just offended the thread got deleted.

Maybe I should talk about shop dogs or concept cars instead.

O/T posts dont bother me in the least...........if it werent for them it would be like reading the phonebook. The HAMB is a great source for info about traditional Rods & Customs but its also a cool place to hang out because of all the guys like Zenor, Hack and Nads...................it's like Hot Rod comic relief.

I feel the same way Mutt.

Well then... I guess I'm sorry the HAMB wasn't able to answer all of your DONK questions? Haha. This is straight up lame and you know it.

I posted on the suggestion forum that I think the HAMB should have a "lounge" for OT posts. The people on this board have a lot to offer besides traditional hot rods, why not allow everyone to tap that potential? Bandwidth? Come on, it's not like it's as expensive as premium!
CHAZ

Oh and by the way, I heard that the Impala logo looks like a donkey?

squirrel

that's what I heard too....but I forgot the details until you just reminded me.

and the funny thing is the 71-76 impalas don't have an emblem that shows the animal, but they are the ones called donks.

Dont try to make sense of this cultural stuff.

Here's another vote to keep the "OT" topics up. As much as I love the tech and the car questions, I can make my wife understand why I find the HAMB so addicting. She hears me laugh out loud or ask her to join in a short prayer. Those posts are usually way off topic, but they are the human side of what we share. When it is not Tech Week, I dig kicking the gong around with my internet garage pals. What's not to love?

But I do think we should understand the Search feature. The Donk thread answered Loudpedal's question and more.

And it IS true. Guys like Nads shine on the OT threads. I know that is is as difficult to land a good hot zinger on some as it is to weld pot metal. Both are art forms.

Just another lame opinion for me.

I won't budge on the OT stuff fellas... We allow some stuff to stay up if it's interesting, but "Donks" certainly aren't something that I would consider valuable content.

Sorry if your offended man... We do the best we can.
