right now my 29 is set up with a tube axle and chevy disc brakes in the front...i need to know what brake set up i can put on to use the finned buick drums?...thanks,mike

I tried to put the drums on my ford 9 inch. The trouble is that the buick drums are too large to fit inside the american 15x8 rims. They fit on the 15x6. The finned drums flared ou ttoo much. John

Mike,this subject has been posted here several times lately..try doing a search.

what you need are `40-`48 ford backing plate/shoe assemblies.they are 12",same as the buick drums. also `46-`48 ford hubs,turned down to fit the inside hole of your buick drum. the inner lip of the buick drum needs to be cut for clearance for the backing plate.
