Hi, all i have an old chevy v8 intake with breather,i'm told it's 1962 or so and cant find a carb to fit it as it seems smaller than the carb.Is there an adapter i can buy to fit say a 4 bbl holly ?..........Marq

It's probably for a Rochester 4JET.
Trans-Dapt or J C Whitney probably have an adapter but the smaller holes will work like a NASCAR restrictor plate and drop the efficiency of the bigger carb.
One of SamIyam's dual Stromberg adapters would work great in this case!

If it is a Qjet manifold you can go to your local autozone and pickup adapter plates to go from qjet to holley. I did this on my chev, but it was obviously a qjet intake.

I'm leary of Spectre - they make the shiny stuff that sometimes doesn't stand up to much -, but yesterday had to get a carb spacer from them via the local shop. The 1-inch spacer is specifically for mating a Holley to a spreadbore or open bore manifold, comes with two interchangeable parts in the middle, depending on if yer mani. or carb is spreadbore or not. Might want to Google Spectre, see if you could order it that way. Have any pics of your situation?

Oops... Didn't notice you where you were. Sorry... But you can probably still find a simular thing there. Its not a high priced item. At autozone its found in the same section as all the dressup chromey stuff.

On a side note, Deyomatic made his own adapter to mount a holley 600 to his y-block intake. Came out pretty good too. He just got some plate aluminum(sp?) cut out what he needed, drilled holes to mate everything up and it actually worked.

It sounded to me like an earlier 4m type and not a QJet--I believe Offenhauser catalogs adapters for all of the early 4 barrels. I've got a catalog with a dimensional page, I believe, so post bolt pattern dimensions. Casting number of the manifold might be helpful too. Bruce
