Well i joined this site a while back but was was unable to do anything with it for some time due to havine no computer handy. Now im back on the computer and getting into it. I hope to share my experiances and gain more knowledge about our hobby. I probably think about rods 2/3's of my total day and being in a place where i have nobody to chat with causes me to just think alone. Now i can talk with fellow rodders when there are none around me. Im 25 years old and find my interest of traditional rods very high. Many older guys have told me i know way more than them and other old rodders. Well all i have to say about that is that it has captured my mind since i could walk, its what I love. I dont know what my life would be like if i didnt grow up the way I did, in my dads shop full of old cars, model T's, A's, flatheads and Y-blocks and all the great tools. It was never an option to buy a rebuilt carburetor for us because you can buy a kit and do it your self and in the process learn how it works so that when you are driving around you know what its doing. I spent most of the 90's going to those famous 50's sock hop car shows (which I allways found a bit wierd, its like they are in a contest for who can have the best 50's flash back), swapmeets, vintage drag races and reliablity runs. But even at a you age I found myself liking the car with the flathead and the original paint job insted of the shiny car with the billet dressed small block chevy. Ive never had the interest in being like everyone else. My cars are in primer and im not bothered that the paint isnt shiny. I would rather my car have a vintage engine that runs better than the other guys small block than have a car that looks better than the other guys. When im at shows today I allways have my hood up. Old rods are my passion and I dont ever see it going anywhere but up, so I hope we can all share the good things that make us roll. -NICK-
