I bought a mustang (65 v8 w/ air) Rad from an aftermarket fender place for 120 bucks It's a walker 3 row, works good, but needs a shroud. Once you have a SBC, you won't go back! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know what you mean about the aluminum jobbies, BUT, El Polacko told me about one he used that was from Summit, actaully, the Summit brand radiator. Aluminum, universal, for around $180. Check out their website.

Other than that, you could go to NAPA or somewhere and get a Modine with a lifetime warranty, I imagine you could fit most anything in THAT engine bay. Maybe a Full sized big block Chevy car from the Muscle car era?

On that Summit radiator, you will need to make some kind of mounting brackets for it, but that shouldn't be TOO hard.

Good Luck.

Check the classifieds, Gotcha is selling a radiator from a 64 Chevy that had a 283...for $35 it might be worth a shot.

Well, if you're gonna put a Camaro engine in it...why not nab a Camaro radiator, too? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

They're cheap, easy as hell to find...and (dig this!) designed to cool a small block Chevy!

As a neat-o bonus, the hose outlets are even the right size and in the right locations! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Then all you'll need is some Moroso chrome valve covers, a cheap set of headers, one of those phoney 'bug catcher' Mr Gasket air cleaners, a Grant GT steering wheel, Tazmanian Devil seat covers, a chrome cassette player with a lighted Pyramid equalizer, some surface mount speakers and a set of bolt-on wheelie bars!

Ha Ha...okay, SOME of that equipment is optional, but 1967-81 Camaro radiators are narrow enough to fit most earlier cars well, they're a cross-flow design, and being Camaro parts....cheap as shit and just as easy to locate!

Get you one from a Ford Explorer. Larry put one in his 50 chevy truck works great. Let me know and I'll see if Ron has another one. I think I paid $75. for it.

I'd get out a tape measure and check the radiators from some 70 up Chevy P/Us. They should be easy to mount to the core support and available new or used cheap.

She said she's gonna make herself a stick to reach down there and push the starter pedal.... Guess you had to be there!

This is what I would do too. It should be cheap from a salvage and some of those trucks with the towing packages had HUGE rads from the factory. Especially check out any suburbans or dually trucks in your local pick-ur-part.

Plus with a GM rad the inlet/outlet will be a closer fit (without having to cut and move) when you do go for the SBC.
