I was just going to PM Ryan with this idea, but I thought maybe hearing the groups input would be good. Maybe it's not even an original idea. Anyway...
We, as a group, don't seem to be able to control ourselves when it comes to responding to lame threads (myself included), like those about "rat rods" and "Faux patina", so they stay at the top while everyone adds their two cents about how they wish the thread and subject would go away. The self-perpetuating problem is obvious.
Ryan, to help solve this, could there be a system put in place where, by voting, we the users could lock a thread? Sort of like the star rating system (that doesn't really mean much) but enough low marks would lock it.
Just an idea.
