What year/model generator bracket is being used in this picture?
Thanks,
Ed
I think it's custom. Stock one's were ona cast boss on that ram's horn.

Doc J - I'm currently set up to use the manifold bracket, but it would rather mount it up higher. When that engine pic was posted, I seem to recall someone mentioning that it was a stocker (and damn fine looking!)
FeO2 - Funny you should ask. The wife's out of the house tonight, so I was thinking about heading over there.

I forget whose engine that is but I do recall him saying that it was set up to look like a Power Pack crate engine, c. 1955. Of course, given that it has Ram's Horns instead of the '55 log, the generator could be a slight deviation too.
Cool engine, though. That "vintage high performance crate motor" look needs to be done more often.

Thats the pic I posted on DRD's engine post. I'm pretty sure thats a 32 pickup that was built by Vern Tardell. No early chevy had a gen set up like that. SO I'm pertty sure it was a fabracated bracket. Any stock setup for that era would have been hanging off the exhaust manifold.
Sure does look good though doesn't it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Being in a '32, it has to be a custom bracket to clear the hoodside, off the manifold wont clear. And he also has to use the ramshorns to clear, '55-6 logs wont(Ive found out, D'ohh!).

Heres mine. A buddy asked me if I made it from a Daytona carb restrictor plate. This was the classic back yard garage bracket so the hood would close.

Damn right it does. Smallblocks do the fifties look just as well as any motor, which is why it always bugs me to see a seventies styled SBC in a fifties style ride.
Wait'll you see what I've got up my sleeve for a forties styled small block... (Cut me some slack, I'm poor) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
