Just new here, I must have been in a cave because I just found this site. I had actually started my own site but don't have many members yet.

www.vintagerods.ca (http://www.vintagerods.ca)

I have some questions for my next build so until I get some experts on my site I thought this might be a good spot to ask questions about my next build since there seems to be lots of guys in the know here. I just finished my 37 GMC, attaching a pic.

My next build will be a 28/29 tudor slammed to about a 3 inch ride height. I scored a complete 40 ford frame today flat head and all. I'm going to use the front axle , brakes and split the wishbones. I want to do a suicide front end , but mount the spring to wishbones.

My actual question was about rear end width. I did some searching and found quite a few threads but no real dimensions for a backing plate to backing plate measurement. I want the top of the rear wheels to be just below the bottom of the back window. I'm going to use 15 "wires with about a 3 inch backspace. So does anyone know offhand what backingplate to backingplate width I need and which axle to look for? I'm thinking mid 70's Ford pick-up ?

Thanks man. The title thing sounds like a drag. Up here all you need is the VIN number and to pass an inspection once the car is done. Then you can get it registered.
