Country Music Television (CMT) has been airing the "We Love These Bars" pilot that was filmed partially at the Continental Club in Austin. Kontinental Bro and Hamber El Jeffe and his club is featured in one of the segments. El Jeffe is shown crusin' his mild custom '57 Caddy Coupe de Ville along with Mercury Charlie's T, Will Munts' F100 and My '32 3-Window.
Catch the show if you can...and if you have visited the club and liked the experience, then vote using the link below and give El Jeffe and his club the recognition it deserves.

I never caught the show...what is so "great" about the one in first place for those of us that never saw the show...that one has a huge lead. How could anyplace be better than Round Up HQ?

I can tell you there's nothing special about the Grizzly Rose.

I voted. El Jefe really needs help getting the word out about his little nightclub. You know how hard it is for small businesses to survive. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

On a side note, Comedy Central showed the Austin episode of Insomniac with Dave Attell. If you look closely in the beginning they show him coming out of the Continental Club, but unfortunately there are no shenanigans going on in or outside of the club that made it to the show. They also show that huge mural of the chick on the tube on that building right next door. The one that 50Ford was getting intimate with.

I'm surprised that the poll isn't over the top for the Continental Club, since this post is a whole day old.

We're not going to let a fellow HAMBer down now, are we guys and gals? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif After all the roundup pics and the stories of all the action I, for one, think that place is a MUST DO as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Like "they" say "vote early and vote often".
Not really, but one vote from each should do the job.
A winning poll should be worth something to El Jeffe.

We've made great progress! The Continental Club is solidly in second. It went from 14% of votes to 28% while the first place bar has lost percentage points. That bar is down from 48% to 43%. Thanks to you you all....How about 1 more round of votes!!

42% to 28%. I bet that by midnight tonight if everyone that reads this clicks over could push it over the top. Just a thought.

And for all you south Texas HAMBers, there is a Continental Club in Houston as well. Great music, cute billy gals, and some cool rides in the parking lot. Ya know, just like Austin but without the hippies. LOL http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And lest we forget the Swap N Bop. That totally rocks.

So vote away as these are the only hot rod/RAB/greaser type clubs that I know of in the area and I'm sure they are certainly the classiest.

I've always wondered, does El Jefe own the Houston Continental Club, too?

Holy Crap. Do I have a problem if I've been to half those bars and have either the scar or the t-shirt to prove it? Seriously, that's weird or real neat.

And, yep, the Jef-meister owns the Houston bar at least in part, if not all of it. You can find the good Rev. Gibbons there on occasion. And in Austin, too...

BTTT ------- Hey guys and gals it looks like this HAMB thing may be so powerful it can't be stopped. Just think about it ....first it's a CMT pole, next we can take over the whole silly mess. There will be just artists and car Dudes "which I contend are the same people" and no one else will have any say about anything.

There is only a 3% spread in the results of this pole right now and I'm quit sure the HAMB is the determining factor.

My boy who is a 4WD Dude but still saveable has been legging for El Jefe since he is a good friend. Hell he's probably offering to buy for everyone if The Continenal Club comes out on top. Guess I know who will have to be backin that one up. One more shot here. If you have a long lost cousin or ex wife out there that you still talk to.....put the arm on them and get this thing over the top.

This is unbelievable. I mean its the way it should be, but you know what I mean......I just found out about this poll and can't believe the support from all of you. Ya'll are what make that lil' ol club on S. Congress great. It's the loyalty from the patrons, the bands and the freakin great staff that make it like a family. For all of you that have been here, come back soon and often....I like your kind, and for those of you that haven't, what are you waitin' for? I truly appreciate your support and votes, not that I would have ever realized this voting thing was even going on, but the best part about it is we all are kicking a club's ass in Nashville, Home of CMT and CMT watchers. Hotwheel told me this afternoon we'd pass 'em before midnight........keep the pedal to the metal boys and thanks again. If I may borrow a line from Barfly..."Drinks for all my friends". I'll be buying in Paso so come find me.....you know what I look like now.

Although I have also already been to the Continental Club (even bought the T-shirt http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif), I voted because it would STILL be the club I would most likely visit. Just be careful doing multiple votes guys, they might get wind of it and the losers might lodge some kind of appeal.

Anyways, if I can come half way around the world to go to the Continental Club, then you people that live in the same country should be ashamed of yourself! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

BTW El Jefe, when I was there you were at the bloody Houston club. Would have been great to meet you and to see your cars. I guess it'll have to be next time.

Actually, I'm a good mate of Peter Busher's who recorded an album "Beer Today, Gone Tomorrow" in Austin. I think he played a few nights at the club.
