61-62 caddy

I just brought home a caddy!! I need to find the I.D.plate,vin number . anybody know where it is located?

its under the cowl vent drivers side

On my 62 it is under the hood, on the cowl, in front of the left hand wiper arm. Should be a tag riveted just past the cowl to hood seal. Also there is an engine I.D. # on a tag in the left hand door jamb(body side).

I do not know if 61s are in the same location or not.

thanks mucho guys, I'll go look.I'll post some pics when I get a chance . its a one owner car with 40,000.but it was in an alphalfa field and rats filled it with alphalfa. I need a passenger side skirt and a front windshield, any hot tips much appreciated!
