View Full Version : Gauge question...

I bought an odd-lot assortment of gauge stuff of ebay a couple of weeks ago...mostly Stewart Warner stuff, but not all. One of the things that I got was bezel and faceplate for an old speedometer, but that's all, no housing or actual gauge. I think the speedo would look great in the T roadster I'm slowly bringing together, but I have no idea how to go about finding out where to get the functioning part of the speedo to put it on. Unfortunately, this appears to be one of the non-SW parts, as I don't see their name anywhere on the face.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have any pointers as to where I could start looking to match this thing up to something and potentially find some working bits? Or even if maybe there's a company out there that could build me a working gauge to match up to it? I'd post a picture of the face, but my digital cam is on the fritz right now.

Thanks guys...I know I'm really fishing here, but any help, thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

just a guess...
but i'd try to find a gauge out of a junkyard car that has a similar scale/face area... like, find a gauge that has a "10mph" near where the same is on your face, etc...

Take the face off of the new junkyard gauge... put the mechanicals behind the face you currently have...

Might have to do some delecate little bracket work to fit the new mechanicals onto the back of your current face...
and probably have to get a speedometer shop to calibrate it...

Might work. Or not.
