Well I'm trying to get enthused about my 51 again and with
the help of my Koninental and HAMB brothers the long road back began last Sunday.
BIG thanks to buzzard, Outlaw, Jasonic, Hotwheet, Scotty and Chris for all their help.
Also BIG thanks to Flat-top for chasing down parts in the panhandle for me. You're the best my friend.

Scotty worked on the body all afternoon while Jasonic and I messed with Alt. brackets and getting the starter in.
Buzzard and Outlaw dropped the front A-arms in preparation for new coils (supplied by Flat-top).
Then they dropped the rear in preparation for new 4' blocks that Outlaw is fabing up out of square tubing.
Hotwheel spent the afternoon under the car with cardboard and a pen making templates for a new tranny cross member.
Chris helped wherever help was needed and supplied a great tool for blowing off some steam by riding his Enfield bullet over and letting every one take rides around the hood.

Angie just got back last night, so I'll probably try to spend some time with her. We may go up to Pate. Is there much to do before you get some parts? She can sand, so maybe we'll come over and do that.
Haven't touched the coupe since Tuesday. I'll bring it to get the system checked all together next day off. I really think it's the alternator, but I trust Texas Alternator. We'll see what shakes out.

You'd be suprised. She's been buggin' me to get Angieotica back up here so she can work on the body. She won't go down to the shop by herself and I'm always at work. We'll see if we can get it back here and make some progress.

Krup - Had a blast last Sunday, If I don't have to work at the shop this weekend and you need some help give me a ring. Just imagine how much we could have gotten done if our "supervisor" had gotten out of that chair and quit sucking the Lone Star straight from the tap.

Buzzard if you get back to work on "Angeotica" and want some help on those tail lights don't hesitate to run me down. I'll sure help if I can do ya any good. ---------- "Krupanut", glad to see ya back to work on your stovebolt.......You makin any changes from when it was green suede?

Hey, Yeah right!!!! Wonder where I heard that before.

05-01-2004, 11:55 AM
Are you going to Paso, this year? Seems I heard you were making the drive.
Don't think Krupa's changing anything from the first Roundup. Just smoothing out some rough spots to get ready for more suede and fixing some trouble areas in the drivetrain and suspension.

It looks like It's another year I won't make it. I actually had a room and such but canceled it all. Can't seem to get caught up enough to take off. At least Mike's Cad should go.......Looks I'm finally gonna get at least one of these critters finished. I'm kinda looking at going to one of the Custom events in the Midwest this summer. Maybe the KKOA thing in Columbus in July. I haven't been to one of theirs for years. Change of pace I reckon.

I'm just hoping to get it back to the point I had it in before it went "south".
There is quite a few issues, depressing stuff.
How are ya holding up out there in wonderful Weir?

Krupa, got your tranny xmember fab'd. I need to drop by and see if it fits as well as the cardboard template did.

Your too much Reggie! Can't thank all you guys anough for your help.
Fatlucky stopped by on Sunday and took out the Tickle me Elmo headliner, Inproved the interior 100 % http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We got the new coils in, cut 1 1/2 out of em'. Not much of a drop but looks kinda cool tail draggin'.
I got the dash in paint with help from Scotty and Chris on Saturday night. Almost have the pass. side frender straightend out.
Need to finish wiring the starter tonight and put the dash back together.
I was over at Scotts Sunday morning, we droped the tank on his 53 Ford. No wonder it kept cutting out, the tank was half full of rust! We got most of it out and he's going to try to seal it. I think it should be ok. It'll be nice to finally get one on the road.
How was the swap?
Wow! There they are Scott and Chris! That is a nice bike....I'm gonna have to get out there soon.

Hey Man........I reckon how I'm holdin up out here depends on which end of things you're standin.
Didn't you put a subframe under your Chev or am I remembering something completely different? It sounds like you're makin big progress anyway.
Ya better watch it with that Reggie helpin' ya cause you might end up with a flathead in it.

Krupa,
Loved that car when I saw it at Round Up 02'. Good to see that your gettin it back together. More importantly, looks like you kids are having alot of fun.
However, you may just see if Reggie will give you a 32'. What's he got, like 10 of them? He'll never miss the damn thing!
Kustom55,
That's what I was suppose to be doing this weekend. Know of any boards for dads that are frustrated with building big ass swing sets?

LOL, trust me, it is hell! It still is not all together yet. I dont care anymore. Toys R Us has a guy you can pay like $50.00 to put it together for you. I might call him if it is not too late!!
