I just got back from Pomona last Tuesday. My brother and I helped set up the cars for the Deuce 75th anniversary show at the GNRS. My brothers friend came up with the idea for the show 2 years ago and organized the show. We were invited to help out, last year trying to find all the cars built so long ago. This year we helped push all the cars around so The Rodders Journal's Steve Coonan could photograph them all. I got a ride in the Mcgee (the first hot rod magazine cover car) and Henderson (the car that raced Seabiscuit) roadsters, it was the coolest. We got to put our hands on lots of hot rod history. On Friday night of the show we broke away for a few hours, went to Gale Banks shop and he took us to Jay Leno's garage. Saturday afternoon we attended the NHRA Hall of Fame luncheon. They roasted George Barris. I met Alex Xydias, the original founder of So-Cal. It was an unbelievable trip. My brother is building a Brookville bodied 32 roadster that I have been helping with. We are also working on a '48 f-1 pickup with a Y-Block and a 6 Stromberg Weiand Dragstar intake. Here's a few pics. Well, gotta go for now.
