View Full Version : Newbie From Ann Arbor, Michigan!
Hi- I am relatively new to the forum and this weekend just got my Barn Find 1928 Roadster running and out for the first time in 40 some years. It was an original dry lakes car in the 1930s and 1940s and a California hotrod in the 1950s. It last ran in the late 1960s when the owner/builder died. I bought in the car from the relatives in the Los Angeles area and "imported" it to Michigan this December.
Are there any clubs for this type of car in the Metro Detroit area?? I have had old cars for a number of years but this is my first traditional hotrod!!!
-GZ in Detroit.
A couple more photos. Engine is a fourbanger with a Winfield head and downdraft carburetor., Kelsey Hayes 16" with 7.50 and 6.00 tires, chassis is stock A bone.

Cool car man. There is a lot of talent and good resources down by your neck of the woods.

Welcome! badass roadster, very cool history as well. There are quite a few of us in metro Detroit, the next big gathering is Autorama, you should think about going, and if there is room putting your car in the basement. I'd sure like to check out that 4 banger....

Welcome GZ, I think you just joined the best car club there is. But the HAMB's a little bigger then you were asking about. There'a wood butcher in Conn. that also has a '12 T, never saw it though.
