Almost 4 years to the day I drove my roadster for the first time.It drives real good.Plod has`nt pulled me for the lack of fenders, yet, and I have`nt really thought of a cover story for not having any, WTF, you only live once!!Soft top and radials? It`s been known to rain here sometimes http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I suggest you get one of the "Hot Rod History" books or one of the ones on dry lakes history--tear out one of the pictures showing a dozen '32 roadsters with no fenders. Keep this in the car to show the cops--"Here's a picture of a 1930's street scene in America--see, they didn't make fenders until after WWII".

Good adwice Bruce.
A lot of the pics in Montgomerys books show US roads/streets with just fenderless cars.
This trick should work just fine over here...maybe???
Fenders you say Mr. officer?? on yhis old heap???..... ha ha ha you gotta be kiddin' me. Do you want me wreck this old antique by adding somme steel plates around the wheels.

Well, what can I say..but thanks,I really appreciate all your comments.Details? well it`s not a steel body apart from the hood, grill shell and dashboard. It`s all home built apart from paint and threads. The dash came via Gasser from Carolina and I had to make a glove box lid and hinge for it,and the new speaker grill and blanking plate and dress up bars all came from uncle Bob Drakes(superb quality)the guage panel was stripped down and a set of Stewart Warner white faced guages were purchaced and the glass, bezel were removed and the casings cut back flush with the dial faces, these were then fixed into the existing guage openings.A small cresent shaped piece of matching plastic was glued to the top of each guage face so that when the facia was fitted you could`nt see the top round shape of the faces through the square openings..voila!12volt guages and senders. The speedo was stripped ,colour matched and redetailed at the kitchen table..it`s almost accurate as well.
Theres stacks of other stuff but I don`t want to bore you guys..a few extra pix can maybe show you , thanks again.
P.S. Jim I`ve lost your addy, I`1l get it off of Shaun and drop you an E.
