Some of you may have heard of Rod Hadfield. The last car he built was a Merlin powered '55 Chev called "Final Objective". This is his latest creation, just something quick and easy!!! Only took 7 months to slap together.

Here's me looking a little worse for wear after 3 days of catching up with old mates...

A couple of profile shots...

A shot of the donk...

A Rod Rider's view...

...and a closeup of the gauges. On the right is the old mechanical Stewart Warner tach and on the left is a gauge that says "AIR BLOWER". Rod has no idea what it's off.

And of course, a shot of that crazy shifter. Yes that is Rod's hand, complete with Mickey Mouse watch.

So what do y'all think?

All they drink down there is VB. Apparently is stands for Victoria Bitter, but some people call it VISITOR'S BEER http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rod thought about it but thought it would've ruined the proportions. I tend to agree. I like that kooky look. I'm sure it'll get photochopped in due course. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, after having spent a little time with Rod on our two journeys down under, all I can say is Rod is just plain sick. It don't take no stinkin' beer for him to hatch the creations he comes up with! He does it all stone-cold sober. He doesn't drink a drop of anything that has alcohol! If it doesn't have something to do with cars, forget it! He won't even think about it. His stable of cars is definitely full of really eclectic "stuff." And, he keeps everything he has ever owned. It's a good thing he has all that property out on the Pyrannes (sp?) Hwy. How is his zoo collection coming along?

Sorry if some of you guys have been checking this post and seen nothing but red Xs. The guy that hosts my website (for free) has been upgrading his firewall server, so the system has been down a fair bit the last few days.

Anyways, don't know about the zoo, but the car collection is up to 18 at the moment. He's kept every car he's ever built except for the first two, and he knows where they are but is not really interested in getting them back. Maintaining his current lot is enough work!
