I want to drop in a sb mopar 318 or 360 built a little more than stock, add a 4-speed and 8 3/4 rear(which I have already) probably run 3.55 gears. I want to do a 50's to 60's hot rod theme. I'd like to lower the front end a little bit. I'd like to run chrome reverse rims with chrome bullet in the center but I'm not sure if that would fit the theme. I plan on keeping the flip front end as it would be to much of a hassel to put it all back to stock. Anybody have any tips or comments? Let'er fly I can take it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. later plmczy

Sounds like a groovy late 60s/early 70s rod goin' together with small block "LA" Mopar power! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
(Ya had me worried for a second when I spotted that boat anchor between the frame rails! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
I could see that thing sportin' a warmed over 360, tunnel ram, two 660s, dual point distributor, lumpy cam, fenderwell headers, four speed, gasser stance, and a funkadellic paint job!
Looks like the start of something killer!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You aren't going to let Fathack ruin you are you. I'd keep the SBC http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Seriously though a Mopar drivetrain would be really cool in that car. I'm thinking a 426 Hemi with injection stacks through the hood. Keep the pictures coming.

Looks like you found a good project. The one I had never really got going I just couldn't see it done and it was a very solid car when I sold it the guy said he was going to make a sedan delivery out of it . I looking forward to seeing what you do with yours . the car does have good roof lines I like the chop pic someone did. If you need a hand let me know.

I found a pic of the 40 I had It was a four door made into a two door so it looked a little funny. I was looking for sedan doors and I was going to move the post back to make it look right but the 46 came along.

I was actually surprised how well the body is. The guy I got it off of said the person he bought it from said the car sat along a dirt road in the dirt. There are a couple of dents here and there but all together it is not bad. As soon as I can get some room in the garage next to it(and a bottle of gas for my mig and sheet metal) I'd like to start working on it. But for right now I'm scrounging parts and getting some ideas. I just picked up a used headlight bezel for $10 and NOS parking light glass bezels for $9 off of e-bay this week. I think I'm going to keep the stock roof height, I like the way the factory did it. If it wasn't for the sub frame I'd like to gasserize it, that would be cool. later plmczy

46, that looked to be in real nice shape. Did you ever see it finished after you sold it? later plmczy

Nope I think it was one of those car that just gets passed around the guy I sold it to was from Philly I think and his brother and him had big plans.I saved it from a guy who was going to gasser it but didn't all the stuff that was taken off was in bags and maked so it could be put back on later. There was pictues of the doors being shaved that were dated 1988 I owned it in 2000 so that sould tell you something.
Thats a nice car.. I still say big block.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Let me check and see if my friend still has his 4 doors i think the headlights were still in them.
