View Full Version : A plea to the photoshop GODS....GASSER

A few weeks ago I had a question about why we NEVER see any 55-56 Fords done in Gasser style. So, my latest dream is to do just that with mine. This a picture of CAS's 56, but my '55 is the same color scheme, minus the flames and tube grill.
Would one or all of the Photoshop gurus show me what this would look like with a straight axle and parallel leaf springs up front, or even a transverse leaf for that matter. I want the headlights in the "nosebleed section."
Any other 60s Gasser styling cues would be appreciated, too. Wheels, tires, paint schemes, headers, etc. I have been wondering what "WWII fighter plane" style headers would look like peeking out of the fenders, ala Buick Porthole style. Or even sticking out and taking a sharp bend down to the street and rearward.
Just some thoughts...
Thanks.

Yeah, now you're smelling what I'm stepping in!
Zeke, those are 54s, the glass is too flat! The A pillars are vertical on the 55-56s, not slanted, but it's close enough. I just might have to join that list. Thanks. Keep 'em coming, if you've got them.

I'll try to get a pic of my buddy's old 56- it was straight axled with an econoline axle with a 427 in it...He built it when he got back from vietnam..I'll see if he'll turn loose if it long enough to scan it.......

Cool, BigDog.
Zeke, I tried to join tha group and for some reason it says the message board is closed. What does that mean? Is the group "dead?"
yeah I know they are 54s but they are close enough to give the feel know what I mean.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Just the message board is closed. You can join up still. The MB was closed to save space for pictures and stuff.

Doesn't one of the Florida Rumblers have a nose-bleed straight axle '55-'56 4-door?

Oh, I agree...62Buford's rendition is just about what I've been dreaming of. Forgot to thank you for that. I'm just wondering if there are other ideas out there.
This won't be in the works for a few months yet, AT LEAST. I've got other MUCH more important priorities that need attention ASAP.
