It's a cold rainy night here in northern Illinois, so I thought I'd run a few pics. Nothing special, just some odds 'n ends.

Here's the last shot. It's my daily driver, my work car if you will. It's a mid '50's SW8 that had a frame off restoration in the early '90's.

It has a little rust, solid floors, split manifold, flat silver and flat black paint. In this pic a crane is rerailing it after my short zigged when it should of zagged.

That's all for now! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

34Fordtk : That's the only shot I have of it. I wish I had more. Pic is from this past Detroit Autorama. I stand corrected. Yes, P.U.!

No shit, IDK you were an engineer... my dream job. Unfortunately, I went to school to "fix" them instead of drive them... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Cool pix nonetheless. I love trains. I'm gonna miss this place when we move to the new house. There aren't gonna be any tracks close to us. (we're surrounded on 3 sides now, about 5 or 6 hundred feet away, I love them straight thru CP Rail jobs that go thru at 3 in the morning at 60+mph! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Man I envy your daily driver! And its vintage to boot!!! SW8 is a cool old peice of machinery. I used to love to keep an eye out for old F units and the odd FM or Baldwin loco when I was a kid, funny how they used to build style into everything from kitchen gadgets to swithing engines. Great car photos too!!!
