I think it was in Rod & Custom not too long ago, in an event coverage section. But I'd go farther than downright cool, more like downright badass.

there's nothing about it I dont like. That never happens. It's just cool as hell.
I know some of you guys are building one of these, you'd be well advised to save some of those shots of it.

That is Radshit's son's car, I think?
I saw it at the Father's Day show last year, it is very nice.

I think Radshit said his son had a hand in building it. I love the way the hood side are cut with the body kicked up like that.

it looks like a little toy. I want to put it in my pocket and carry it around with me everywhere I go.

That's my friend Jamie's modified.....My son Steven, who now works for El Polacko at Industrial Chassis, had a big part in the build-up of that car........He worked for Jamie at Hot Rod Haven here in Albuquerque and did the metal work...floor boards custom exhaust and lot's of other metal fabrication.....(I'm very proud....can you tell?)......
That car is sweet....lot's of detail and bitching parts went into the creation of that ride......
Mangus did the interior.....which is flawless .....and Willie Fischer did the detail pinstriping and artwork all over it.......
Pictures, do not do this car justice.......

It's a nice car, but it's not a lakester. As the seller says, it's a lakes modified.
Lakesters are similar to streamliners but with the wheels and tires fully exposed rather than enclosed.
Here's a lakester, getting pushed off the line at Bonneville in 2003:

Here's the driver, Tricia Kisner, who did 325.810 mph on that pass:

Thanks FoMoCo.......I'm lucky that he would rather be wrenchin on a sled, then doing other things less constructive........
Here is a picture of the car before it's reincarnation....

Hi there. This is Ray, otherwise known as ChevyAsylum. Glad ya liked my pic. I've enjoyed a lot of the pics from this group.
In the pic of the lakester, they're pushin it off for what was about the last run of the last day. Tricia set top speed of the meet on that run.
I had tried to be there for the entirety of the meet, but little things like my oldest son's wedding sorta got in the way. I did make it out for all of World Finals in October. That was a great meet...even if we DID have to cross a small lake on the way to and from the course every day.
There are a buncha pics of that meet at http://www.chevyasylum.com/bsf2003/wf/Welcome.html this url. Yeah, that's me...the old guy sittin in the rat rod.
I hope to be out there in September with my 85 Monte Carlo
SS (406, AFR heads, Comp roller cam, etc) to run for the 130 mph club. It'll be my first time runnin on the salt.
Btw, I raced at MoKan last year when the Nova folks had their gathering. Didn't go very fast, but had a great time.
Again, I'm glad you enjoyed the pic. Oh...the url for my website is http://www.chevyasylum.com/
Enjoy,

Thanks for joining us, Ray.
Your site turned up when I was searching for a good picture of a lakester to use as an example here.
As you probably know, the focus of the HAMB is traditional hot rods and customs. There are several of us on here who go to Bonneville when we can. You might post a new thread as a way of introducing yourself to the rest of us.
