View Full Version : update, modified frame, K and box
part nine day nine of my modified..
man I am beat,, longest day yet in the build,, and heaviest..
today I built a K member and boxed the frame front and rear..
I used 2x4x3/16 tube for the K member and 3/16 plate for boxing.
it's all tacked nice and square to the world, this frame when done will be able to take any horse power I put in it..
here is a before picture showing the frame rails with front and rear cross members,
here is the K in place, checking fit
back on the horses for some boxing up front,
checking fit, again, I had it mocked up and apart four times,
another shot of the rear box,
that's all for now, gotta rest....
to be continued.
one more before I put her to bed..

Keep going you making great progress, classy, practical, and user friendly mods.
Usually these "quick" buildups require some "dodgy brothers 'booty' fab", but gotta say I am very impressed.
Again, you can rest when ya dead, keep at it, great to see the progress.
Cheers,
Drewfus http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
You're an inspiration ... thanks, mate!

If I'm recalling correctly that's a Studebaker V8 and overdrive 3-speed (BW T-85, I think, forerunner to the T-10).
