yea DMV it costs about 3 or 4 bucks up here.
Maybe carfax, but they're pricey and I haven't had much luck with the older cars.

Really? My DMV actually gave that info to me for free, but it was because they needed the last owners signature to put the car into my name. But I did have to wait almost an hour in line.
But a couple bucks seems fair to me.

Beware of Federal Privicy(sp) Act. I needed info from Montana about my Merc, had to send them photo copy of my DL, and answer many questions, and $6......OLDBEET

My dmv says they can't give out the information. They told me to call the police department and have them run the vin. But I figure they will tell me to just call the dmv. Carfax.com only goes back to 81' so it won't do me anygood on a 70 pontiac lemans.
See I think I know who's name it was last registered to but I'm not completely sure about it.

Don how did we find out about my wagon? Didn't you call and ask to verify the name on the title and they just told you the name?
