this is a new motor plowboy brought up to me that I done bought off of ebay. here are the numbers 8a301770h I think it's a 54 55 but who knows. any help would be kool man

Almost looks like a 371 to me but that wasn't until 58 I think..

Hollanders says it is a 1950 block which would be a 303.

L53.the bellhousing was just changed problly.check ou the tailshaft.

although if it is a 53 it could be factory installed beacuse of the hydro plant fire.maybe they put one on there instead of a dynaflow.im just guessing.the fuel pump is a 49-54.

i looked it up finially.i couldnt find my book.those #"s sounded soo goofy too.im not too familur with the earlier #s.youve got kind of a combo of parts going on.it is a 50 with a 53 linclon hydro.nothin wrong with that.you might just have to chop the driveshaft alot.i got a 53 303 once,and it had a 56 poncho hydro on it.
i would guess the heads are still 303 since it looks like the exhast manifolds are stock since there is no generator mount on the pass side.may have been cut off though.let us know the # on the center port.the intake is different.its hard to tell in the pic,but it almost looks like a large carb pattern intake.i can let you know if you tell me the casting #.54-55 i would guess.valve covers are 54-56.let me know if you need more.later,

well here is a updated pic with the new intake a cragar 4 duece compliments of a hamber i forget his name. I will get the numbers off the intake. thanks drew

hey drew.looks good.like cg kidd was saying about the number on the center exhast.let us know that.that way youll know what heads youll be running.they look like 303 from the port shape.
