My name is Sheldon and I live in Escondido, CA that’s north San Diego County (GO Charger’s). I have just turned 60 and have been a car guy since I was 15. My current project is a 1948 Plymouth 4 door that I call Rusty. I found it on Craig’s List and had it towed out of the garage that it had been sitting in for 6 years by the ocean (hence the name).
With fresh gas, plugs and a HEI dist set up I bought off ebay it started and ran great. I drove it to the Christmas Cruise here in Escondido mid Dec.
I’m currently pulling it a part to install a 2X2’s, and headers. I will also install front disk brakes and a overdrive trans. That I found. I doing a Resto Rod so I will be repainting the car black and have the trim polished and plated as needed. I want to be ready for the Cruise nights that start here in April. My big plan is to drive Route 66 after I retire in 2 years. I would be glad to hear any comments or suggestions.
