I went to the smaller of the 2 big shows here in Redding area this weekend. Hot Autorama at the fairgrounds in Anderson. This was at the auction. I have seen it for years off of highway 299 as I leave town twards Eureka. I always meant to stop and see it.

Well I prefer this drag car. Ran in the early 60s in Lancaster. Still with the original owner/builder/driver. He came up and joined his buddies for a reunion. One of the guys moved up here years ago. I know him somewhat, but we seem to have a lot of mutual friends. He still races the salt flats, been doing it since the 50s. He is Jim Rotta, and currently runs a streamliner with a 80s turbo 4 banger. It's red number 7777, the salt shaker.

All these race cars in this section were part of the reunion guys.

But not all the cars are their original stuff. This was built last year and is still being fine tuned. The guys may be getting old, but they are still in the running.

That roadster looks hella familiar. Meet up with any HAMB'ers there?
Saturday at KAN this guy kept eyeing my HAMB shirt, and we kept running into each other (even later at the Anderson event). Turns out the guy's a lurker from Red Bluff- Rick Brown. Really nice guy, knows his trad. rides and stuff, we gotta get him on here.
