Okay, I'm about ready to start hackin' the frame apart on the business coupe, got the solid front axle I needed, and had a few questions before I fuck it up real bad. I've never done this before, and have more ambition than brains sometimes.
Will 2x3" tubing be good for the front half of the frame? This is what I was planning on using, with a 2x3" piece for a front "cross-member", and a couple 1x2" cross pieces, one for a radiator-support support, and one for a tranny crossmember. This will be welded in roughly to the middle of the original frame, so I can re-use the original wheel-well arches.
What measurements should I be taking? I figured the wheelbase, so I can try and keep the front wheels in the front wheel-wells, and crossways, so everything stays square. Any help would be mucho appreciated!
And for you guys who want a progress picture....

The body is very good, considering it sat in a field under a growing eucalytus tree since '76. Yes, the floors are gone; I'll be putting in new ones once the body goes back on around the engine and frame.
Thanks all!
