firstly the thanks to mr cochran for recommending the book `the birth of hotrodding`...fuck knows why i hadn`t bought it before now...if you aint got it ..get it...i also bought the other two books you see below..`dry lakes and drag strips` pretty much goes with the book above...awesome photos....the last one is all photos...photos of everything connected with the world of hotrods and customs...great stuff....
the rant is that i paid for the rod and custom book due out last year just like brush did and i`m worried that the books gonna contain pretty much the same contents as the books below......nevermind http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I've been looking for the Hot Rods and Custom Cars from Taschen locally, but have not found it. Taschen puts out some really fantasic books! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I was under the impression the new and overdue Rod & Custom book was supposed to be similar to the recent Hot Rod magazine book. More or less a compilation and reprint of original magazine articles. Does anyone know for sure? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Dean Batchelor taught me EVERYTHING I know about traditional hot rods... and I've never even met the man.
All of my tastes were developed from reading those top two books. I love them... Another good one is "Cool cars, Square roll bars" by Arnie Shuman. Some weird east coast stuff but also some really neat hot rods...

I read Dry Lakes and Drag Strips last year. First book I'd read in about 7 years.
