Lookin good Eric. Good to see all those old Ford parts come together. Remember the All Ford Picnic is Sunday, June 6th. You got to leave home by Thursday the 4th. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are those those elusive V8-60 wheels up front? Where does one guy find two of those suckers? Even if they're not you gotta be one proud pappa. Keep the progress pictures coming for your old home boys. I feel like a happy uncle watching the rebirth. dug

Looking good. I didn't see the post the first time around.

So why did you split the front wishbone with a flathead and stock k-member? Just curious...

Doug - I was by a friends shop last week. In the course of our conversation he said he gave away two 40 V8-60 wheels last week. I about couldn't contain myself. He asked if I needed some too because he had two more out behind the shop. We headed out only to find that the last guy must have taken all four. Bastard. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

He did say he had four more at home, but he was going to hang on to those. Some guys have all the luck.

I didn't split the wishbone. Some hot rodder did in the past.I just rebuilt what was already there. The tie rod goes through the wishbone. It all worked before,so I just freshened it up a bit.I did replace the old tie rod ends welded to the split wishbone with new bungs and 3/4 ton Ford tie rod ends.Rebuilt the F-100 steering,40 brakes, and new king pins. The old Mor-drop is in great shape, could not bring myself to weld on shock mounts so went with the bolt on lowers. The chassis originally had the lower mount on the spring shackle and real big upper mounts.Looked like ape hanger handle bars.THANKS for asking.ERIC

I, for some reason, thought you had started from pieces on the chassis. That's neat that you were able to keep it as it had been built, just freshened up.

On the other hand, I am still welding together old Ford scraps trying to make something that resembles a 32 chassis. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The chassis was sitting in a farmers field in Wa.There was no K member.Just little stubs where it had been.We (Kranks) found a K-member that had been cut down.Lined up the two.Welded it all up.It had some crazy rear suspension.I put in the rear crossmember "A".Kind of turned back the clock on it.Made it all a little older.
Oh,replaced both front horns too,so some scrapin' was going on.
