problems selling my car on here

i have noticed that everything on here sells fast as hell, for me, i cannot sell my gasser project, i dont know why, is there any tips or anything? or is my car just really freakin ugly?

Christmas time may be a bad time to try to sell it. For me it is the location. Give it time.

Here's how the HAMB works...

You sign up, you share, people get to know you.

You THEN list your wares and people say to themselves, "Hey, I know that dude. I'll check it out." The interest meter is rising.

Then they see what you're selling, hopefully well described with lots of pics and they like it. They have no questions. They have money. The interest meter is pegging.

They then contact you and you respond without being a jack ass. The deal is done.

There are a few variations that work. There is always the brand newby that posts something so incredibly cheap that it's snatched up immediately.

If you really need to ditch it in a hurry to someone who doesn't care who yuo are you might give Ebay a whirl.

Here's your problems. A little tough love the RASHY way.

One pic is not going to cut it. Take some pics. They're free. Why wouldn't you?

Obey the rules. You are supposed to wait three days before bumping your ad. Some people see someone break the rules and are turned off immediately.

Also, the "sell it for scrap" ploy is getting old. Why the hell would someone go from trying to get $2000. out of something to spending half a day screwing around with dragging it to a scrap yard, getting a flat at the scrap yard, spending half of their $200. (tops) they got for it on a new tire and then going home and being pissed about it?

It makes no sense.

Drop the price, let someone else screw around with hauling it off and be done with it.

You may not like the advice but you did ask for it.








52 chevy 2 door sedan with a 50 chevy nose. Need front pic. 57 car rear end, rear pic might not hurt. speedway style straight axel, again, front pic would help. no motor or trans, NO RUST. I see rust in the one pic you posted. You may want to elaborate. very straight, still needs a few things welded together (steering box fron spring mounts) Has all the parts plus some extras, What parts? What extras? pics of the "extras" would help. comes with original front suspention also. I will trade for things pre 1965. thanks

I think its a damn cool car. I agree though that it is a bad time of year to try and sell project cars. And I agree with the above from Rash. Keep trying though it will sell.

have you tried listing it over at the gassermadness.com free classifieds.....might also try racingjunk.com plus....money is just not as easy to get this time of year.......so you might just let it float till after the first of the year.....unless you just want to give it away....lol brandon

I had a hard time selling my wagon. But eventualy it sold. I listed it in one of those classic, muscle car mags they sell at the gas station and every night I got at least one phone call about it. Give it time...

you will soon learn that not everything sells quickly. try the auto trader or craigs list.

then you will get the phone calls, people saying they will come over and never show up, or show up 3 hours late, people who say they'll buy it and never call back, people who leave a deposit and think you'll store it for them indefinitly.

here's a tidbit of information that will ease the strain of selling a car. it is not sold until the new owner has paid in full and the car is rolling away. people say all sorts of stupid things. none of that matters.

this is where the saying money talks, bullshit walks comes from.

Try responding to peoples emails, I contacted you twice about the car first pictures and then shipping. Said you had to talk to your dad!!!!!!!! No response back at all!!!!! THANK YOU though, you saved me $400. and I only had to travel 15 miles from my front door to get one here in Minnesota.

If you want to sell the car then dont waste peoples time when they want to buy it!!!!!!!!!!!

HA i know what happened. at the same time a guy from Kansas was trying to buy it. both you guys were aking about shipping, i told him thinking it was you lol. on my PMs it shows i sent that guy to of the same-ish message. my bad. but still im glad i didnt sell it because im trading it for a 32 pickup. obviously it worked out for both of us. so none of us should complaine right.

and yeah i did have pics of the front axel set up and rear shots and all that on my last posts. and the rust, its just surface rust from the bare metal i didnt seal well enough with primer. And its not a mope im just pissed bacuse ive had about 4 people PM me saying they were really interested, i showed them some more pics and info and they never respond back. im not trying to be annoying or "rash" here but its also gets annoying when people critisize me for things that that they do also. Seriously sorry if i have done any wrong and dont want to soil my reputation on here. Thank you.
