wheel bearing question

i have 40 ford spindles and it just crossed my mind that on the front end i tore off there were wheel bearings would the 31 ford bearings work on 40 ford spindles with 40 ford drums?? i woke up with this brilliant idea will it work or not ??? any tips appreciated

I can't say for sure, but I remember taking some Model A front bearings and using them in an early 60's ford truck front end. They were the same.

ford 1928 to 1948 front wheel bearings are the same
