Cool site.
I have been into rods and racing for many years.
My long time ride is a 1985 Monte Carlo SS that I backhalved about 14 years ago.
All Chassis Engineering with laddar bars and 31/18 Mickey Thompsons.
Aluminum headed SBC and TH400 with brake in front of a Ford 9" with 4.86 gears.
Goes 11.85@119 on motor only.
Car is all steel 'cept for hood and deck lid and has complete interior including back seat. Still has power windows.
Future is uncertian though, I want something different but its hard to part with a car you've had for what seems like forever.
I fill in the time else wise with Jeeps and 4x4s but there is less and less places to run them here in Florida, so my current Jeep project is on the market as soon as it is done.
I started with cars as early as I can remember, my first real car was a 68 Chevelle 350 4spd.
I built that up with a buddy and it eventually got a 396. Cool car for high school.
Anyway hope to start a street rod project in the near future. Iam really feeling that straight axle vibe that is making somewhat of a comeback.
I have been eyeballing a old Comet that my boss has and will part with cheap, but Iam not reall a Ford guy. So we will just have to see.
