hi my name is martin.my friends are reg. on the h.a.m.b.and told me this is the best place for me to talk to other people who love cars as much as i do.i have always owned and built muscelcars but now im going to try to live my dream buy building a pure old style gasser,drag car.im not very good with computers so hopefully my friend don can post pictures of my build.the car is a 1967 opel kadett .as of now it's a center stear straight axel car that i am putting an amc 360 in.oh buy the way,i have no idea what i'm doing because i'm use to buying what i need from a swopmeet or summit."cant buy these parts so i guess i have to make them

So you were the lucky winner, congrats to you! Were you able to find any history on the car? Jr. Thompson? It would be neat to turn back the clock and see if the car was campaigned with a hemi or a BBC. Cool project, keep us posted.

Jr. Thompson's Opel is the title of a current centerspread article in Rod & Kulture Illustrated Fall Issue #27. This is the original car brought back to life by the original owner/builder/driver Junior Thompson and son Tommy. This car is now on the market for sale in order to move onto other projects. Under recommendation is Junior recreating his original Willys Gasser. The Opel was displayed at the 2008 California Hot Rod Reunion where JR was the Grand Marshall. (jrthompson.net) As a promoter we have also moved Junior's Old Black Studebaker gasser back into the limelight; this is the car Isky said started the Gasser Wars in his Drag News ad in July 1958. KustomKoolWebDesign has donated their services and created a non-profit website to commemorate JR's activity with the OBS. (oldblackstudebaker.com). We hope you success in your endeavor.
