My Brother did in his T Hot.
Worked Ok, no big stereo/heater etc.

To make it work it's best you should mount the pully on the yoke of the 3rd. member. That way there is no movement and the belt will stay on.

What is the benefit? If it is mounted on the engine, it will always be spinning. Is this just to hide it from the traditional police?

You stop it stops ... but .. a jack shaft of the motor is a whole 'nuther story ... this may be high zoot but from an engineering perspective it is interesting.
There are other photos on his site as well detailing the jack shaft design ...

Oops ... I should have mentioned the jack shaft is in the bottom of the photo, the pulleys are not connected to the driveshaft. Some of the other photos show it from various angles....

He made a pulley out of aluminium and bolted it to the rear axle yoke, and made mounting bracket on the rear axle. So it was fixed mounted in relation to the pulley.
