Greetings from yet another new guy. I'm gonna warn you all up front I'm a computer idiot so please forgive me when I screw up. Oh yeah I can't spell to save my life either so you all can look forward to that to haha.. Anyways I've been lurking for about two years and love the site so I hope i don't make to much of an ass of myself. Guess I should let you all know a little something about myself. I've lived in Merced my whole life with a short stay in Phoenix to attend UTI and another two years in Chico while my girlfriend finished up school at CSUC. My girlfriend and I are both 25 years old and ready to get started on our 29 sport coupe turned roadster (before we got it). I also heve a 65 Mustang that I am working on... Yeah i know damn pony cars but what you gonna do it was my brothers so it's gonna get done up the way he always wanted. Also have a 65 Galaxie two door hardtop that was my first car so i just can't let it go. I spent about two years working in a rod shop while in Chico so I have a little bit of hands on time. Anyways thats enough of my rambling. Looking forward to getting in on the fun and can't wait to learn even more. Thanks a ton for what you have all taught me already. I can use all the help you all have to offer with all the computer stuff so please feel free to give advice.

Thanks for the welcome Muttley. Looking forward to getting to know all the crew. Are there quite a few HAMBers from around our area?

Thanks Jimmy. Did you go to the Phoenix campus also? To be totaly honest I was more than a little dissapointed in the Hot Rod program but over all I feel i came out of there with a better understanding of a lot of automotive systems and definantly more comfortable around electrical systems. I would have liked a lot more hands on though. How about you?

Yes, I went to the AZ campus too. I was pretty much dissapointed with everything. I would have liked it to be a lot harder to separate the kids that were there to learn and the ones the the government was paying for. I got 6 SOP's out of 17 phases and I wouldn't consider myself all that smart. And the way they treat students there is terrible, you can deffinatly tell that UTI is a corporation out to make money and a place that puts the students learning first.

Amen brother.. But hey at least I put a bunch of money towards student loans now instead of my mustang or the A roadster my girl and I want to start working on hahah..... Oh well live and learn. At least now some of the other guys we went to school with know which end of the wrench to turn. Worked out ok for my best friend . We went to school together and now he works for Volvo.

Thanks Royalshifter nice to know there are some real hot rods in our area! Now I just need a dumptruck full of cash and a welder so i can get my roadster off of the floor in my storage unit and on the road. It sat in the yard I bought it out of since the 60's so i think it has waited long enough.

You most certainly did. The wife and I try to make it to Famoso every chance we get.
