I can finally tell you about it!

I have been holding this in as to not jinx myself, but the other day I stumbled across an old hot rod that has been setting dormant for over 40 years. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to close the deal so I waited 'til it happened before I told ANYONE (ok, my wife knew).
Today I closed the deal. I'm am so freakin' excited.
The roadster was build by the father and an old boyfriend of the lady I bought it from. Her father has passed away and the boyfriend is long gone. She counldn't remember exactly but guessed it was built around '59 or '60. It's basically a hand built body and chassis. It's pretty complete except the motor, wheels/tires and front and rear axles have been pulled. It's going to need some steering work as the linkage seems kinda screwy. I'll be the first to admit that the workmanship is far from professionial but hey, for what I had to pay for it I am not complaining. The lady had decided to liquidate most of the family belongings (I think she really needed the money) and this happened to be part of it. I picked up several other really cool things but nothing car related...oh, except a BRAND NEW pair of 1959 Michigan license plates. Never was put on a car. Wouldn't they look cool on the roadster and just the right year too.

I was informed though that if the car was ever going to be dug out of the barn it would be mine for the taking. I'm not holding my breath......anymore.

About every six or seven months he gets a hair up his ass to get rid of it, but never does.....He's about 100 years old so he'll probably die and leave it to the junk yard.....

In reality it is a lot more complicated than this but you get the idea.

Basically it's a Model A chopped/channeled with a tri-power SBC - a local guy who has lived here since the 50's........sigh.....

I have hope, as I am one of only a handfull of guys who knows of the car, and most of the others are Street Rodders so they can afford to buy new instead of waiting.

I got two things on my side,
1) I am younger than them
