Here are some BAD photos of my disc brake to '36 Ford spindle conversion. These are the parts I had waterjetted from 1/2" 6061 aluminum plate. I drew them in Autocad and their waterjet followed them perfectly.

This is what it looks like from the outside.....stock !

Here's the JFZ 2-piston caliper and 12" X 3/8" rotor mounted to the '36 drum with the drum itself machined off.

Hey that's cool stuff. Didn't you tell me at one time they sold the conversion kits for the 36 Wheels?

So far this deal is in only in the prototype stage. It still needs some tweaking. I had 2 stars cut and 2 caliper mounts. I'll resubmit it as I get it more refined. I have never been a fan of the '40 - '48 brakes and figured there must be a way to retain the stock '36 appearance and have a higher quality, more effective brake.
The rears will be similar (I'm using an early Ford banjo rearend also) but with 12" dia. X .81" vented rotors and 4-piston calipers.

Root....Nope, I can't remember ever seeing a kit. There are stock car hubs, etc. that use the 10.25" Ford pattern but that's not the look I was after. If anybody is producing a similar setup I'd be interested in seeing it.

Hmmmm. well, maybe we just discussed the wheels then. You told me that in the circle track world there were tons of guys running the wide 5 pattern. I don't remember much else. I have that particular project on the back burner til we get moved etc. I am interested in seeing the whole setup. I am a disc brake fan myself.

So what would ya do if ya ran a 9 inch on the rear? Build the spacer?

Root....doing that setup on a 9" would take a little study. To be honest, I've never given it a thought. I assume you're referring to having the '36 drum look on a 9".

Yeah, that's what I am talking about. I have a 36 Ford pickup that is waiting in the wings and I wanted to look stock but slammed with stock wheels.Thought this might be a good idea for that.
