All the pics would be full screen, and it would save the hamb money. It's actually quite easy and free. Check it out.

good stuff.. I use it. lets you resize your pics so they do not mess up the thread where everybody needs to go side to side to read it. you can even resize after they have been posted

Photobucket is great.........I hate having to click on attachments to see some of the pics.

They also give you plenty of bandwidth unlike other picture hosting sites.

It is nice to have all the photos archived in one place though, especially in the tech section. I had an image hosting account crash and they all went away... not good.

I agree for the most part, but if I just want to share a pic of something that I don't really care about for illustrative purposes to make my point, I don't want to fill up my photobucket acct. with that kind of thing. Plus, if you ever delete it, then the thread loses the pic, so someone searching old threads won't know the whole story.
But I do try to use it when posting pics of my car, or others that are personal favs that I keep in my photobucket acct.

when is the last time you've TRIED photobucket?

they've updated the interface to upload and manage your photos. it's much easier than it used to be a few months ago, now you can automatically resize to a maximum size when uploading, it's about as easy as it gets now.

maybe photos in posts that make it to the tech section could be pulled onto the HAMB server?

just an idea. and I think it could be automated.

I usually put pics on the hamb, they do kinda belong here, but some I put on my own web page and link to. having a third party involved is kind of a pain....

I've noticed quite some older topics don't show much pics anymore, because the pics have been removed from a person's Photobucket or own website. That's a shame.
50shoe's idea would prevent this when a topic is archived.

I wonder if perhaps the Attachment-feature on the site could be re-written so it uses a (paid) PhotoBucket-account to store (and automaticly do an 800px resize) the pics and uses clickable thumbnails to view the images in topics. Only the Admin will have access to this particular PhotoBucket-account ofcourse.

If you, like me, have found Photobucket getting very slow, you might want to look at uploading to the image shack and use the thumbnail link to your photo.
Their address is: http://imageshack.us/
this site accepts pics up 1.5MB in size
