Let's hope this works this time!!! I do appear to be logged in!!
I'm Alan, retired today, been playing with junk for last 20 or so years as I find it keeps me out of the bars and in the learning mode. Trailed and raced 4x4s til it became hard work then went back to cars. Did a complete on a 68 Firedbird 400 for the wife and had an excellent driver til I put the new "improved" stepped up run like a piece of @#$%^ on the street, motor. Tried tuning it all summer and going to give up and put it on the dyno. I guess no point fighting technology.
I also have a 55 Pontiac 2 door sedan, my pride and joy, primered and probably always will be, 462 Pontiac, 2x4, th400, 4:11s. Have to finish fuel system and main power from batteries and its back on the street for another year of terror. But since I found this site I see it evolving into the car I want.
FYI what brought me to this site was the 55 gasser. I had a 57 chey tradesman wagon, my Dad bought it new, in 67 and always wanted a straight axle. So .. Alan
