Well I am back from Vegas without a hitch. The Galaxie got us there and back again. There were a number of cars that I thought were amazing, but my fav. was our very own Fordolee500's shoebox. You could never tell they had to rush to get it painted and striped after the hood accident. the paintjob alone is awesome, I also real liked the lake pipes, what were those made out of?? But my main reason for this post is to send out a BIG THANKS to Harpoon for pinstriping my dash. He is amazing and has so much talent. I also wanted to apologize for having to split before you got done. My wife was up in our room with our baby girl and I had to meet her. By the time I got back you were done. Thank you Harpoon, I cannot express how happy I am with the way it turned out.. here our some pics of my dash I shot today with a boworred camera, sorry no pics of the show as I have no digi camera -

Harpoon is the man. I got a very nice screen print from him Sat. We traded art work for art work. It s ascreen print of Kookies T done in a halftone pattern with some wild colors behind it.
Mike come over and take a look at this man....its bitchin! I gotta run to a frame shop and have framed.

I think it looks really cool! Some people don't dig "free-style" type striping, though. Personally, I like doing free-style striping and like to see how others play with it as well. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Harpoon does some cool stuff...he's sent me pics of bike tanks he's sprayed and cars he's striped, and it's all super cool! It's a really nice job on your dash...especially if you know what a bitch it is to get up in there and work! I hope you took good care of him.$$$ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am getting where I can recognize his stuff - it is a little looser and rounder than a lot of them and more creative in the layout than most.
Could a "new" pinstriping style be developing?

Here is a sneek peek at Carlos from santa fe NM sheetmetal. He came to vlv just to have me pinstripe his stuff. Thanks for the kind words Axle. More on Friday

I dig the style. Very much uh... halucinagenically influenced. Reminds me much of the doodles the skater kids would do while frying in sophmore biology class.
Refreshing to see work that breaks a bit from the VD style.
Then again, I really dont know SHIT except whether or not I like something when I see it.
Hmm, thats all that fuckin matters!

yhank you very much for the compliments about my shoebox! it was very cool meeting you guys, the dash looks great i am a big fan of alot of striping as you can tell by my car. as for the lake pipes they are custom bent and i used spun brass tips from chica custom cycles and had the pipes powdercoated. hope to see you again next year!!!!!!!!!

Actually, this style is REALLY VonDutch oriented! Take a look at the Barris shop truck-woody. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The stripin' looks Badass. Most people can't appreciate how hard it is to stripe a dash with the glass in it. It's hard to do and it gets cramped.
Your stuff's Kool!
