Outlaw is stuck in LasVegas with a cracked transmission
case and no garage to work in. Is there anyone who can
help? Shop, Garage, Driveway, alley, anything will work.

He just needs a place to pull the tranny and replace it. I
bet he will even buy the beer.

Either give me a PM or call him direct on his cell
Tyler aka.Outlaw(512)576-2139

Thanks

OGNC hooked El Polacko and 55Safari up with a guy he knows in Vegas. See if you can PM him.

I just talked to Outlaw and it sounds like they found someone that has been very helpful. I called 55 safari and got the number of OGNC's buddy from him so now Outlaw has a backup plan if this other guy falls through.

Sounds like being the Burnout King has it's expensive side! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It would not be Outlaw unless he was breaking stuff...his title under his name should be "burn out king." Hope he works it out quick and gets on the road...he has a bit of a drive ahead of him going back to Austin.

One of the few places where a guy from Texas can help his
buddy broken down in Nevada through a friend in Pheonix who
knows a guy in CA with a friend in Vegas.

I'll follow up with my little brother in awhile and make sure he is taken car of.

Keep the options coming just in case.

I'm keeping a list for myself when I drive out for Paso,
I'm going a week early for work and travelling by myself.

Outlaw is not out of the woods yet, but he’s in good hands. He found a place to work on the car and is currently waiting for the hook to drag him to the garage. He already has a new drive shaft and a transmission waiting to be installed.

He also has a backup phone number in case something else happens.

Thanks everyone your help.

Funny thing is that Outlaw changed his oil pump in my driveway here in OC before we ever met in person. In that case, he knew a guy in Houston who knew that I have a big driveway (by SoCal standards) and a fairly complete set of tools...

The best part, is that it all took less than 10 minutes.

my hat is off to you HAMBers! I figured you guys would help one another that were real life friends but I wouldn't have imagined that folks would actually help strangers with a place to work on stuff and offer up the tools as well! this speaks pretty highly of the HAMB and its members and actually of the sort of people you all have as friends in the first place!

Yeah it took me a while to realise the 'brotherhood' of this place we call the HAMB..
For some strange reason, even though you don't meet people face to face, nobody seems like a stranger.
More like old friends.

It's damn nice to know your not alone out there, when your alone.

Dang I hate hearing about all the trouble. It is cool that there is usually someone on the HAMB in every state willing to help out. I hope he gets everything back together.

Man, Outlaw kan't go anywhere, can he? I'm glad to see he's got helping hands while he's in unfamiliar territory.

This kinda reminds me of how Texans really don't mind Okies so bad after all. At least all of the times I seem to break down in "your wonderful state," I always have my HAMB brothas ready to help on a moments notice. Thanx guys.

Good luck Outlaw,

See yall at StrayKat,

May I suggest a wedding gift registery at NAPA or Summit?.

You've found the key Upchuck. It's about the people and the values. That's why we have HAMBERS with volkswagons, bikes, chevelles, and other cars. It's the values we hold that keeps us together. The cars are just icing on the cake.

I know that Flesh Gordon was there on Sunday trying to help him locate and install a rear end. Sounds like the problem was bigger than expected!
He stayed behind because he wanted to try and get Outlaw back on the road... Pretty cool. Hope it all works out o.k. for everyone.

We should start a new HAMB based rescue service...
We can name it either:

HERS
Hamb Emergency Rescue Service

HAMBERS
Hokey Ass Message Board Emergency Rescue Service

I love this place!

You guys keep Buford T. busy while he sneaks in the back door! I just bought all 3 Smokey and the Bandit movies this weekend on DVD for 12 bucks. American Grafitti and More American Grafitti are out as a twin pack on one DVD too.
Now, if I could just find Junkman and Grand Theft Auto on DVD...
