Doc I think your reputation is gold around here based on what people are saying( it did not hurt you giving all that stuff away either).

I just looked at mine, and there's no way (at least that I can find) to see who posted about you. Both of mine were negative. I'd like to know who posted these things. I have no problem with criticism. Sometimes it even helps me to make changes.
Posting negative comments anonymously seems kind of weak to me, but maybe there's are reason for this, or maybe I'm just too dumb to find out or know who's doing it.

Anyone can post to your reputation and I see no good use for it because of that.
I think the original intent was to use it like a feedback system for buying and selling.
As far as I'm concerned, if someone sees fit to alter someones reputation they should leave a reason and their screen name in the space provided. Otherwise it's high school bull shit no better than talking about someone behind their back.
Funny thing is Mods can see who leave the remarks. I can't see whether the vote was good or bad though. I'm guessing the guy that called me a fag left a bad vote and probably had no idea I know who he is. I considered it a compliment coming from him anyways. :)
Keep your chin up and ignore the rep function until it makes some damn sense.

Hell, I wish it were me!! I think you have me confused with another Doc. But it would be nice to be able to give away gear like that. Hell I live off a shitty VA pension, I can hardly feed myself!!
Yeah, that Doc gets two thumbs up from me too.

I have no reputation!! is that good or bad??? actually do I care that much!!!
The little colored square right underneath your post count. Hold your mouse cursor over it, should pop up and show you what you are.
Exact positive/negative, I dunno, but that will give you a clue.

HELL, I just checked mine and I am in the RED. Now I am seeing RED. I went through them to find and someone posted a negative reputation cause he didn't like a posting about Beehive Oil Filters(link (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133145)). Anyone have anything against Beehive filter? There are as traditional as traditional gets.
Yeah, I need to turn reputations off...

On another Forum I frequent thay have the rep point system. Rep points are usually give if the comments are something you agree with. Neg reps are not frequently given, unless slomeone has a strong disagreement/ is offended by the comments. They have a link to see who issued the comment, no anonomous neg reps. It's kind of a way to see who agrees with you (or not) with out cluttering up the threads.

OMG, do peeps REALLY care who agrees with them or not?
I certainly can't think of ANYONE on the HAMB that would.
As far as "reputations" go, if a person on the HAMB is being a complete ass, always arguing, stiring the pot, posting O/T all the time, in others words being a pimple on the HAMB's butt, then he "deserves" negative "reputation". Maybe it will make him stop and think before he posts shit.
This is my opinion of course and I don't really CARE who agrees with me or not.;) :D

On the flip side of that,,,
There are plenty of people on the HAMB that do nothing but shit talk and this turns out to be a nasty little tool for them to do some more of it with no accountability.
It either needs to be set up so it makes sense or turned off.
As it stands:
- for every 365 days, users gain 1 point of reputation altering power
- for every 1000 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation altering power
- for every 50 poings of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation altering power
- Users MUST have 500 posts before they can alter any reputation
- Users MUST have 10 points of positive reputation before they can alter any reputation
- Users can only give reputation clicks 5 times a day
- User can not give another user mutliple reputations...
------------
I either need to educate or kill it... I'll prolly just kill it.

The last time I had a reputation was high school which looking at the calander was about 100 years ago.
Kept the girls smiling.
Accountability or just a big bitch about someone.
If one is left, it should not be anonomous.

My 2 cents,I'm not a jock nor a nerd and school could'nt be over fast enough for me.I'm a car, truck, tractor, motor cycle, whatever runs freak. I like traditional hotrods, none traditional(street rods),muscle cars(none #matching or matching), I don't care about personal feelings,I care about car stuff. I eat, sleep, and work on vehicles, this site gives me a relief from the people that don't understand motor heads like us,so please keep it simple just cars, trucks, and anything that runs and is cool, leave you comments at the door,Thanks redheadslead.

The "reputation" is suppose to be related to the POST the person is reacting to, NOT regarding the person themself. If I make a really stupid post while drunk regarding something not car related THATS when someone who's reading the stupid post can, and should, give a negitive feedback. It has nothing to do with the person, just what stupid words came off their keyboard.
On the other hand, if someone posts a really cool tech post or something postive for the board, you can give that person an extra pat on the back for said cool post if you respond with positive "reputation".
Get it?? It's about the post not person.....or at least thats how I think it's suppose to be.
GAY, GAY, GAY!!! Anonymous posts by whiney bitches that don't have the balls to confront you openly on a post is LAME!

Mine is -3. I guess I'm a dick even though I get tons of positive responses to my posts. Hmm.
