Paul, Tuck, how about an ongoing "Basics" series in the tech section? Each installment could tackle a different topic, such as "Straight axle basics" or "Split wishbones" with example pics. If nothing else, they could be pulled from old threads and spotlight a different concept each time.

That sounds sort of like what I've been doing Richard D, I've been reading the posts and then printing the articles out that I think will come in handy, thinking of putting them into a bound folder eventually

As you ckind of touch on, I think, most of that info can be found in the tech archives.

I like the idea though, drag something out of the archives and copy it back to the main page for a second go? Might stimulate some different ideas. Especially since the membership is growing exponentially.

Holy moly Rash, did you get that big word "exponentially" at the swap meet? It's not profanity, is it?

as for the question,
a series showcasing basics of rod construction in the Tech Archives...

it's all there already,
if you use the technique desrcibed in the
How to use this forum (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96127) thread stuck at the top of the Tech thread pile
all threads in the archive will be a breeze to peruse.

The Tech Archive is easy to use. I was thinking more of an essay on each topic, not a thread with posts attatched to it. But then, I guess that's what a MESSAGE board is all about.

One small problem is that some of the tech articles are losing their pictures.
I ran some older ones and the pics are not at the hosting site anymore. If the author changes his provider or loses intrest and deletes them, they GONE and the article loses some of its value.

We need to gather and preserve these into PDF's before they are lost! (Yes i am volenteering to help.)
