Its a lilttle over 70 miles from my house to Vern's, but always worth the visit. Met up with fellow HAMB'rs Nor Cal Nic, AV8 (Mike Bishop) and Six5Monster (David). I love looking at all the cool stuff he's working on, plus there is always a 'new' flathead powered contraption someone gives him laying around the yard. It was a great time, and a nice morning to visit. The icing on the cake was when I was leaving and one of the guys at the shop offered to slant my aluminum windshield posts on the spot for $20!! How could I say no? MIG is the only welding I know how to do. We yanked the windshield, and he went to work cutting and grinding. One hour later I had 1/4" slanted posted back on the car! Anyway, enjoy the pics...

Jay,
Good to see you. I wish I could have stayed longer. Family comes first. I would like to see the result of the slant back. Give me a call on my cell.
Your pal,
David

If it weren't for the modern trucks in the background I'd swear this could be titled "El Mirage, 1951." High end rod, too, with that Caddy OHV!

I envy you guys that live close enough to Vern's place that you can just drop by for a visit.

Any idea if the digger killer is going to be at the HAMB drags again this year?

I don't think so... but Round Two of the HDK vs. the BFD will go down June 6th in Palmdale California at the Antique Nationals... if anyone cares.
Sam.

The posts look a lot better IMHO....Sam, I care and I'd LOVE to be able to attend but I'm stuck out here in fly-over country. Keep us informed.
