Glitter vinyl and steering wheels?

i'm told that glitter vinyl and glitter steering wheels came about in the mid-late 50's,anyone know if this is fact or fiction?..................Marq

I could agree with that, my dads uncle Verl from Woodland CA in the late fifties put a 331 Cad motor in his F-1 and tricked out the interior aswell, with a orange glitter wheel and orange/cream tuck in roll. But I could be wrong. I always thought of it as more of a sixties thing.

yeah i thought it was a 60's thing too,but i'm told cars like buick had the glitter...............Marq

p.s i'm in the process of getting my truck on the road and i want the exterior to look like it's getting ready for paint(primer)and the interior to look like it's finished.It's a look i have seen in lots of old hotrod pics almost like the cars are a project thats driven and that the owner will maybe finish one day but just wants the thing to go fast.Of all the pictures i have seen a lot of them say the owner has bought his speed parts first and will worry about paint later.........................Marq
